Classroom Behavior
Positive rewards for good behavior and the consequences for bad behavior choices will be displayed using ClassDojo. It is an online behavior management tool that encourages positive behaviors. Each day students will earn points based on their behaviors in the classroom. Students can earn positive points, but they may also get points taken away if they choose to make unwise choices. The number of points your child receives each day will correspond with a color that will be recorded in your child’s daily take home folder. This allows you to be aware of your child’s behavior and choices each day. Please initial in your child’s folder daily.
Pink 5 or more points
Purple 3-4 Points
Blue 1-2 Points
Green 0 Points
Yellow -1 Point
Orange -2 Points
Red -3 or more points
At the end of the week, students will be able to choose a reward coupon (“Hungry? Pick a day to eat lunch with me”, “Cool Cat in the Hat! Wear your favorite hat in the classroom”, “Fluffy Friend! Bring a stuffed animal to school”, etc.) if they were able to keep their positive points at 80% or above. This will encourage students to make good choices in class.
My goal is for all students to experience a positive educational climate and extraordinary academic growth. I hope you share my goal and I look forward to a successful school year.
